Swatch & Review: Kat Von D Rock n Roll Eyeshadow Duos in Air Guitar

I'm feeling kinda productive this week, by blogging almost everyday! Thats the mood i'm in right now since i have just so much to play with...

Think there would be many out there being curious about Kat Von D collection like i do. She does fabulous tattoos and now she bring her trademarks rock designs to cosmetics line making a very HER collection.

I'm never good about single eyeshadow thats why i really hesitate in getting them but since its on sale so i just ask Diane to grab me some! I'm reviewing the neutral gold shade today which i'm wearing.

What Sephora says:

Rock n Roll Eyeshadow Duos
What it is:
An eyeshadow twosome: one satiny and one silver glitter-spiked shade from tattoo-artist Kat Von D.

What it does:
Make some sparks or create a posh, polished look with the Rock n Roll Eyeshadow Duos. Designed by reality television star Kat Von D especially for Sephora, these hues complement each other and bring an edgy-glam creativity to your makeup, whether worn as liners or shadows.

What else you need to know:
The circular palette features a mirror under the lid, is stenciled with silver roses, and arrives packaged in a silk-screened black and silver box that is itself a work of art-inspired by Kat's favorite tattoo. Now on sale, hurry before these shades are gone for good!

even the box looks good.

Look at the lovely design on the cover its just so pretty. It comes with mirror so you can use this e/s duo for touch up on lippy or gloss.

this e/s duo comes in matte & shimmery finish in one with a split to divide them. so you can decide which to use or even mix them up. the color payoff is just average, i anticipated more pigment but guess i'm just paying for the packaging haha.

i love the packaging, its kinda rubbery texture. great to hold on to.

I'm not sure if its because that i'm swatching on neutral shade thats why the color are hard to notice, i'll give this collection another try on a different shade tmr.

Overall:
This is a e/s i would consider to pick up if only they improve on the color payoff (i'm gonna try another shade to confirm this). The packaging just attract me to take another glance on it. For the price, its kinda pricey if you were to based on the usual USD20 for a single e/s, i might pass off easily as i could get something else like a primer, blush that can use for more looks. But since its on sale at only USD10, i would say this e/s is still average.

this is my look of the day Kat Von D e/s pair with Flamingo Mascara, & Tarina Tarantino Blush in feather (which i'm reviewing next!).

Peek into my week, Hauls & Packages!

Another peek into my week post, its more of hauls and packages post i think. I'm so happy to received 3 packages in one week! No words can describe when i was unwrapping them!

My belated purchases thru Diane, i got her to get me some MAC as its cheaper in USA and sometimes not all collections are release in Singapore so to prevent disappointment. I'm curious over Kat Von D collection too so i ask her to get some.

MAC polish in Blissed Out & Coconut Ice, Clinique liquid e/s (from Diane)
some glosses from Kat Von D, MAC shadestick, lipsticks

This is a sweet smelling extras from her, she added LUSH & Victoria Secrets items which i love so MUCH. I'm using the VS pure seduction lotion right now and loving it!

Package from Amy, she is the 1st person i started off swapping with and since then we had been swapping sort of regularly haha. Its just so hard not to buy esp things that are out of reach in SG. Like the L'oreal HIP series, revlon photostay foundation & maybelline mousse concealer which are now my HG item that i'm using daily!

DHC was having some promotion so i decided to try the DHC lip cream and see what amy got for me for extras...

I love toner, so got one from DHC to try too. Can't resist promos..

I love blush and gloss right now, in fact its my everyday addiction that i have to feed to.

Evie send me these out of surprise as i wasnt expecting them until she tweet me that she sent me sometime. I didnt know VOV has sheet masks too.

Nail Swatch: MAC Blissed Out

This is part of my MAC purchases recently, this is my 2nd MAC polish and i start liking them so far. The formula is smooth, and drys pretty fast. When Warm & Cozy collection was launch, i was attracted to this shade. Its peach nudey looking on the promo catalogue which i like. Heres the swatch below:

This shade wasn't far from what it looks from the catalogue, just slightly brighter and its actually peach with a kiss of pink in it. It really makes my fingers look more feminine and its french looking too. As i'm a fan of creme shade so this is definitely one of my favourite shade for now.

Mascara Review 13: Flamingo Mascara set

HI all,

Its monday again! I'm now in such a blue mood though guess i need a bit more time to get over with the blues.. So here's the delayed post which i did last week on the raved Flamingo mascara. Some of you might have got the 1st version which is in red packaging, this white one is the improvised version which promise more length. I have not try the 1st version so no comparsion.

This is how the packaging looks like, two applicators in white tube and with the black paper box.

See the introduction of the product, sounds amazing right.

Simple instructions on how to make this works, and sample pics too.

Even though the shop claimed this mascara is made in Singapore, i'm suspecting this is from China. Yay, china does have some amazing stuffs.
In case you wonder, this is how the step 2 fibre applicator looks like.
Time for trial!

My naked lashes which you should be familiar with...

My lashes with one coat of step 1 application, which looks just like any other mascaras.

Now, its a coat of fibres. It looks so funny with those white fibres on..

Cover up of the white fibre portion using the step 1 black mascara.

This is my finished look using this mascara set. Its hard to do without them after trying it out. As i feel like dumping my falsies after this.. But then again, the negative comments i have for this mascara is that after few uses the black mascara applicators will starts to turn kinda clumpy as the excess fibres caught on the bristle while coating the fibres black sort of thicken the formula.

Will i re-purchase, hmm think i would consider. The usual price for this mascara is approx USD4 (sold in china), but i bought them for SGD18.90 (readily available in SG stores)...

Updates + NO luck with BLUE...

Halo!

I know that i'm way behind blog readings & posting.. i have just so much things to do these days. Just that i can't have the best out of both world right, which is family or internet! My daughter was on holiday last week, so i tried to give her more attention than usual. By the way, i started working on my another blog more towards kids.. as i'm hoping to capture all kinds of special things that happen along the way.

Recently, i re-visited my blue coffret d'or palette again hoping to see miracle that blue is my color. But i have come to a conclusion that BLUE is definitely not for me. For the start, it does makes my eye pop but after few hours of wear. The blue makes my eye look kinda dirty, haggard which i'm not pleased with. I'm more of a cool tone person which works well with neutral shades. So now i have one shade less to consider when it comes to shopping.. haha

Here's the look i did with the coffret d'or palette.

I'll talk about the highly raved Flamingo mascara tmr!

Peek into my week!

Hallo ladies, glad that i've passed week peacefully and now on FRIDAY! Armed with iPhone, i'm able to take pictures every now & then to share about my everyday...

Here's some interesting ones..

I passed by this handmade breadmaker, look at the loafs of breads resting on the racks.. Its sort of hainanese style way of making bread. I love this kind of homemade ones spread with KAYA (made of coconut & egg).

I guess everyone will have a hard time to get thru MONDAY, me too. This is my survival kit! Milk tea, some ask why not coffee. I'm someone who can suffer from mild insomnia so i hate to take the risk even though i'm always tempted by the rich aroma of coffee!

I received a love package from the lovely Liang, she is a fab person that i love to hang out with her someday. Too bad that i wasnt able to meet her up when she was in Singapore. See what she got me..

This palette from Sephora seems to prepare me for summer!

Look at the shimmery shades.. the marine blue & aqua green looks great

The bronzer which i really want to try out, hopefully it can contour my face & makes they looks smaller.

My casual wear during the mid week, as i'm kinda tired to dress up haha

Currently, i'm loving this kind of BLUE! it does bring some life on me! What colors are you loving now?

Finally, i have time to put on fake lash after such a long break. Blame it on my laziness! Always woke up late thus constantly in a rush to work. I'm using princess criss cross lash 07 for this look, eye makeup with KATE palette!

This is another shot of the same look i did above! Hope you gals like, promise more pics for next post!!

Mascara Review 12: Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara Black

At last monday is over so i'm on tuesday, still need some determination to get thru though. I had a not so special weekend spending time with my kids staying out... and also took some time to reorganising my stuffs (makeup).

Then i realised i have this still brand new, its Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara which was released in Dec'09. I was supposed to test this as new product when i purchased it but its like almost 4 months after its release.

Guess its always better late than never so heres the review!

Here's what Bobbi Brown says:

New
Extreme Party Mascara, .21 oz./ 4.2 ml $22.00
Our boldest mascara ever. Unbelievable volume. Endless build. Exceptional separation. Pliable formula stays flexible even after it dries, so each coat goes on as fresh as the first - immediately or hours later - with zero dragging, clumping or flaking. Tapered brush grabs even the smallest, hard-to-reach lashes. Now that's beautiful.

MY REVIEW:

I personally like the metallic finish of the mascara as it makes this mascara stand out of my collection at a glance.. Especially when the name is call extreme party so its pretty to be slip into my makeup pouch for partying as it fits the theme really well.

The shape of the bristle is just nice in reaching out to lash near eye corners.

List of ingredients if you are interested.

I'm not sure if you gals know that the 6M stated above tells you the recommended number of months within which the product should be used after you have first opened and used it, provided the product has been stored under normal conditions and not exposed to extreme temperatures. For example (24M) means that you should replace this product within (24 months) after first opening. The "Period After Opening" number will vary based upon the type of cosmetic product. (info extracted from bobbibrown.com)

My naked lashes with only eyeliner.

Naked lash picture 2

My lashes with 2 coats of Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara on. Its does bring on some volume to my lashes which i'm pleased with.

Another shot using flash lights in case you feel the pic above is too dark.
When it comes to lengthening, i would say its okay but need time to build up the length.

Side view

It certainly volumises my lash and NO CLUMPS..
Overall:
This mascara is not yet into my FAV list even though it volumises & lengthen pretty well.LOVE the after effect, my lashes still feel so soft like before application. It has more gripe in holding up the curl compare to fiberwig, thats my personal opinion. It also needs time like Fiberwig to build up on the length. I'm not able to devote that much time in just putting on mascara but if i have the time. YES it would hit into my FAV list. This mascara is easily remove by just using Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil, you do not have to fear that the fibres getting into your eyes which Fiberwig does to me. The price is still acceptable for the kind of performance it does, what do you think?

So this is my EOTD using stuffs below: (ya, i know i use too much products just for one look LOl)

Any new mascaras or eye product you got recently and love/hate them?
